
MICHELLE BARTON KING:
Ms. Barton King was born in Manhattan, New York and lived in New York until the age of 12, when she moved to Miami, Florida with her family. After graduating from Miami Palmetto Senior High School, she attended and graduated from University of Miami with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (minor in Sociology) in 1992. After graduating from University of Miami, Ms. Barton King worked as a Guardian Supervisor with the 11th Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem Program until she began studying law at Nova Southeastern University Law School. During law school, she interned at a family law firm in Miami, Florida.
After graduating from law school in 1998, Ms. Barton King began practicing law at a boutique family law firm in Coconut Grove, Florida. Thereafter, she became an associate at a mid-size firm in Hollywood, Florida where she practiced insurance defense, with a focus on automobile accidents. In 2004, Ms. Barton King became an associate in one of the country’s largest minority owned law firms, in Coral Gables, Florida, where she continued to practice insurance defense and expanded her legal focus to premises liability, product liability, high value automobile accidents, toxic tort, wrongful death, negligent security and property damage (residential/commercial) cases. In 2011, Ms. Barton King co-founded Barton King Soret, P.A. in Coral Gables, Florida and changed her legal focus to include assisting individuals and families in need and/or injured through no fault of their own as well as family law.
Ms. Barton King is authorized to practice law in the State of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Ms. Barton King is presently a member of the National Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association and Coral Gables Bar Association.
Ms. Barton King also donates her time to the Put Something Back Program in Miami-Dade County and is an avid marathon runner.
CAROLINE A. SORET:
Ms. Soret is Cuban American and grew up in Miami. After graduating from Miami’s Palmer School, she attended the University of Florida in Gainesville and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1996. After graduating from the University of Florida, Ms. Soret enrolled at the University of Miami School of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate degree With Honors in 1999. Ms. Soret was admitted to the Florida Bar in September of 1999.
Ms. Soret began her legal practice at a Miami telecommunications law firm, assisting in the purchase and sale of radio stations and other forms of media. While working in the field of telecommunications law, Ms. Soret also served as the Editor of Broadcasting and the Law, a monthly telecommunications trade paper.
In 2002, Ms. Soret joined a downtown Miami law firm to become a litigation attorney, with a focus on automobile accidents. One year later, Ms. Soret joined the country’s largest minority owned law firm where she expanded her fields of practice to include premises liability, product liability, high value automobile accidents, wrongful death, negligent security and property damage (residential/commercial) cases.
In 2011, Ms. Soret co-founded Barton King Soret, P.A. in Coral Gables, Florida. She is the Historian of the Miami Beach Bar Association, sits on several committees of the Cuban American Bar Association and is also a member of the Dade County Bar Association and Coral Gables Bar Association.
